How to Apply for a Job

To apply through Portfolio, you need to submit a CV form below and indicate whether you are looking for permanent or temporary work. In turn, a temporary or permanent placement form will appear. Complete the applicable form, filling in contact details, such as your name, email address, telephone number and availability. Attach your CV. You can also opt to register your details with Portfolio by sending your CV through Portfolio’s “Submit Your CV” navigational tab. Portfolio will then contact you to set up a registration appointment if we believe we can assist you in finding work.

What to Expect When You Register with us

When you come into our office to register or set up an appointment with a consultant, you will meet with a Portfolio staff member who will ask you to complete our registration form before interviewing you in one of Portfolio’s private interview rooms. At that time, you and Portfolio’s recruiter will talk through the form while discussing any objectives with respect to the job search process.

You will need to bring:

  • Your CV in paper form or email this to us
  • ID to show eligibility to work in the UK – this can be either
    • Birth Certificate
    • Passport

Portfolio recruits for a large number of candidates for work in Alton, jobs that are featured in our database also extend to vacancies in other areas. Portfolio features jobs for permanent or temporary placement. If you are looking for permanent work but are not currently employed, then we can discuss temporary opportunities, including clerical jobs that require proficiency in computers and typing. We also provide temporary work for students during university holidays.

Employment Tests and Guidance

For certain vacancies we ask candidates to complete a typing, or literacy and numeracy test for roles which require a certain level of ability in these areas. We make sure that candidates are tested and well-prepared for working in temporary assignments and applying for permanent roles.
